Different Lamps for Different Applications
There are a lot of different Halogen and LED lamps for copper landscape lights available in the market whose properties vary for different applications.
One of the most popular Halogen and LED lamps is MR-16 type. The Halogen ones are from 20 Watts to 75 Watts, but the LED ones are from one to six Watts. MR-16 Halogen Flood lamps have 36 degrees while MR-16 Halogen spot lamps have 12 degrees beam spread.
LED MR-16 flood lamps have 45 degrees, no spot LED lamp available for the time being.
In some applications we need to use Halogen MR-11 lamps, the maximum wattage in this family of Halogen lamps is 35 Watts, the beam spread for MR-11 Flood Halogen lamps is 30 and for spot Halogen lamps is 10 degrees.
PAR-36 lamps are another family of low voltage lamps which are used in landscape lights.
Incandescent PAR-36 type comes from 18 up to 50 Watts, beam spread of this type of lamps are32, 37 and 39 degrees. Halogen PAR-36 type comes in 35 and 50 Watts and the beam spread is only 40 degrees.
S.C. Bayonet type is another one that is used mostly in landscape step lights, landscape area lights, landscape pendant lights and landscape path lights.
Xenon technology also is used in landscape lighting which is brighter than normal S.C. Bayonet lamps. The above lamps and technologies are used in all kinds of copper landscape lights as well.
